Creating Happy, Healthy, Inspiring Lives – One Smile at a Time

Hi, I’m Dr. Darlene Henry—welcome to my little corner of Erlanger, Kentucky. For over 40 years, I’ve been doing what I love: helping Northern Kentucky families smile with confidence. I knew this was my calling early on—tenacity carried me through dental hygiene school (1985) and my DMD from the University of Louisville (1989), leading straight into private practice here in Northern Kentucky.

I’ve stayed committed to growth and excellence ever since: serving eight years on the Kentucky Board of Dentistry, four years in national roles with the American Dental Association, pursuing advanced training at Spear Education and the Kois Center, and mastering cutting-edge technologies like CEREC for same-day restorations. This ongoing dedication keeps me at the forefront of modern dentistry so I can deliver high-quality, personalized care to every patient.”

What truly sets me apart is a simple gift I’ve honed over the years: the ability to see your entire oral health picture and guide you step by step toward the best possible outcome—no matter where you’re starting from. I look at your whole mouth, your bite, your daily habits, and your unique health story, then break it down into a clear, prioritized plan that makes sense for you.

The days I love most? When you come in for a routine cleaning, everything checks out beautifully, and you head home with a big smile and nothing more to do. Those easy wins remind me why I do this!  When treatment is needed, we always choose the gentlest, most conservative path: natural-looking, functional restorations that feel great and last—because your comfort, confidence, and long-term dental health mean everything to me.

My small, dedicated team—Kim (our warm, knowledgeable business assistant with 30+ years in dentistry) and Mary Ann (our gentle, humorous expanded duties assistant since 1998)—they’re not just coworkers; they’re family. They’re the glue that makes every visit feel personal and easy. Together, we create a calm, welcoming space where you’re never rushed, always heard, and treated like family.

Outside the chair, I keep life fun and balanced with hobbies like music and outdoor adventures, soaking up time with my husband Michael, our grown children, and our grandsons (pure chaos and joy!). These passions make me a better listener—and remind me why smiles (and stories) matter.

Whether you’re after preventive magic, a full smile refresh, or just curious, I’m so glad you’re here. Come meet us—let’s chat about your smile and how we can keep it healthy, happy, and inspiring for years to come.

Mary  Ann – Expanded Duties Dental Assistant

A valued member of our team since 1998, Mary Ann began her dental career in 1972 and has expanded duties certification.  She has also obtained certification in CPR and coronal polishing.  She enjoys our team camaraderie and taking care of our wonderful patients, who love her gentle manner and sense of humor.

Mary Ann has been happily married to Greg for over 35 years and has three grown children and 5 adorable grandchildren.  Outside of the office, she likes to garden, decorate, bake, paint, sew, make candy, and read, as well as spend time with her horse.  She also enjoys volunteering her time at the First Church of Christ in Burlington,  Kentucky.  Be sure to ask her how many cookies she bakes for the An Old Kentucky Christmas events; it’s a lot!
